These super easy to make paper flowers make a great addition to any theme decor.
PRO TIP: Customize the flowers by adding different layers of colored paper. For a different shaped flower try cutting the ends in a V shape or adding fringe. Fold your paper slightly thicker for a fluffier flower.

Baby showers are wonderful social events that allow us to celebrate a new life, the mom-to-be and adorn her with lots of love and gifts. Today, our gigantic family hosted a baby shower for my beautiful sister-n-law. Planning a shower can be a daunting task, and the costs can add up quickly. Luckily this was a team effort. Here are some low-cost DIY crafts I put together for our pink and gold themed back drop. Most of these items you may already have laying around your home or can find inexpensively at the dollar store.
Tissue Paper Flowers – These easy to make flowers can add so much pizzazz to your party décor. Not only are they easy to make they are also versatile in size, color and shape. For my flowers I used white, light and dark pink tissue papers. I also made them little so I could tie multiple on a string to hang. There are several versions of how to make paper flowers depending on how you plan on using them. But the concept is pretty much the same for all. Here’s how I made mine.
Supplies
Tissue paper in the color(s) of your choice Scissors Twist ties (or string or basically anything that can tie around the paper) Fishing line
Directions
1. Count and lay six sheets of paper neatly on top of each other. Make sure to line up the sides and corners as much as possible. Add additional layers of paper if you want a thicker flower.
2. Fold the stack of paper accordion style to approximately half inch (1 inch if you are making larger flowers).
3. Tie your paper together at the center with a twist tie. Don’t worry about the ends of the twist ties sticking out we will fix those later.
4. Next you’ll want to cut the shape of your petals. I opted for the round edge for a rose/peony looking flower.
5. Separate out the petals one sheet at a time. Be careful not to tear the paper.
6. Tie your flowers to the fishing line and tuck the twist ties in. (you can use any type of string)ut the petals one sheet at a time. Be careful not to tear the paper.
And you’re done!
