Hello all!I know it has been a long time since I’ve posted something – but I’m back for now, until life gets in the way again.If you love to eat Laab, I hope this blog will inspire you to try new ways to eat this popular Asian dish.


Laab also known as Larb or Larp, is the national dish of Laos. It is a meat salad flavored with fish sauce, roasted ground rice, lime juice and fresh herbs.You can pretty much use any meat of your choice, but it is most often made with beef, chicken or pork. Read on for a very basic and simple recipe for chicken laab, as well as a few different ways to eat and serve.


Ingredients

6 cups of cooked ground chicken

2 jalapenos

2 stalk green onions

2 cups of cilantro

1 packet of Laab powder

2 tbs of fish sauce

1 lime (juice)

1 tbs of chopped Thai chili pepper

½ tsp of salt

Optional: shredded carrots, red onion

*Makes about 8 servings

Directions


Step 1:In a bowl, mix together the chicken, laab powder, fish sauce, lime juice, chili pepper and salt.

Step 2:Add remaining ingredients to your meat mix: jalapenos, green onion, cilantro, carrots,  red onion.

Step 3:  Add additional ingredients to your liking.   Mix thoroughly.
